Working principle of magnetic flux leakage detector

Apr 20, 2025

The working principle of magnetic flux leakage detector is based on the fact that after the ferromagnetic material is magnetized, a leakage magnetic field is formed on its surface due to defects on the surface or near the surface of the test piece. When the ferromagnetic material is magnetized, if there are defects on its surface or near the surface, the magnetic permeability will change, causing the magnetic flux to be distorted, and part of the magnetic flux will leak into the space on the surface of the material, forming a leakage magnetic field.
